What To Expect
Dr. Alex will review your full medical history and talk to you about your lifestyle and treatment goals. This is to ensure there are no underlying contra-indications to treatment and to fully understand your symptoms.
Then a physical examination is done, which involves functional, postural, orthopaedic and neurological tests. We look at your musculoskeletal movement and strength and we check your neurological function. Honestly, you’ll be amazed!
Finally the chiropractor looks at your health goals and immediate priorities. You also receive an accurate diagnosis (a ‘label’ for what’s wrong), a prognosis (an assessment of how long it will take and what you can expect), a personalized treatment plan to ensure you reach your goals and, assuming you wish to proceed, your first chiropractic adjustment.
Use Of X-rays And Other Tests
X-rays or other investigations may also be necessary– but decisions will be made with you before any such procedure is undertaken. There is a small risk with excessive radiation, so no x-ray procedure is undertaken lightly. At all times your chiropractor will weigh the risks accordingly.
Typical patients who may require an x-ray are those who have had recent injuries, older patients where there may be a question relating to bone density, unusual examination findings or a history of other serious diseases. X-rays or other investigations may also be suggested if you do not improve as normally expected, after a short course of treatment.
If you’ve had any X-Rays or scans done elsewhere it is very useful if you can get a copy of them for us to look at.
Will I Recieve Treatment On The First Visit?
If the type of problem you present with is straight forwards, your medical history uncomplicated and you have previous experience of chiropractic care, then we are more likely to be able to start with some treatment on the first visit.
Before we start treatment, there also needs to be enough time to give you some explanation about what we have found, the treatment alternatives we recommend and how long it might take to help you get better. On the first visit there may be enough time for a brief explanation of this.

Ongoing Treatment Sessions
Duration: Approximately 25 minutes
Price: 650 RMB (Discounted Treatment Plans Available)
Chiropractic treatments are fast and effective. It is important you are on time for all these treatments and remember, you’re here for a good time not a long time! Don’t get drawn into thinking that longer treatments mean better treatments, we are effecting your central nervous system and it is important not to overload your system. Chiropractic is often referred to as ‘switching the lights on’…it doesn’t take long, but it’s very effective.
2. Appointment Policies
Please be on time to your appointments. The result of late appointments may result in less time or attention to you. If you arrive too late for a complete treatment, you will be asked to wait until the next available opening, or to reschedule for another time.
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. We reserve the right to charge for a cancelled or a missed appointment if not given sufficient notice.
3. Walk-In Appointments
Unfortunately because of the length of time and attention we give to each and every patient, you are encouraged to schedule your appointment. Because scheduled appointments are our top priority and we do our best to accommodate walk-ins, you may be required to wait until the next open appointment slot. Please be aware that we may not be able to see you immediately and we appreciate your patience.
4. Insurance Policies
At ChiroCare 恺乐康, we do not accept or direct bill insurance and cannot be responsible for what insurance companies will or will not pay.
Insurance contracts are between the individuals and their insurance companies, but our doctor can provide you with medical reports and invoices containing ICD-10 codes, which you can then file with your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
